Contact Angle Measuring Device, is sometimes known as Goniometer, is an instrument for determination of contact angle between the dropped liquid drop and the solid surface by optical analysis. The contact angle values obtained from this process allow for the analysis of how well the liquid wets the solid surface.

The property of surface free energy of the solid can be determined by having measured the contact angles from multiple test liquids, and further analysed with software for work of adhesion for different liquids.
